Draft · not yet in force

This document is a draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. VoiceSnap Pro is pre-launch: there is nothing to buy, no licence has been issued to anyone, and these terms bind nobody today. They are published early so that anyone considering the product can read them before launch rather than after.

The final version will be legally reviewed and published here before the first sale. Sections marked TO BE COMPLETED are deliberately unfinished — most importantly the governing-law clause in section 14.

VoiceSnap Pro

Terms of Use

Last updated

VoiceSnap Pro is sold once, not rented. These terms describe what that one payment buys you, the handful of things you may not do with it, and — honestly — the limits of what software that guesses at human speech can promise.

The short version

1. The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and the publisher of VoiceSnap Pro (“VoiceSnap Pro”, “we”, “us”) covering the VoiceSnap Pro desktop application, the licence key that unlocks it, and the website at voicesnap.pro. By buying a licence, installing the app, or using the site, you accept them. If you do not, do not install the app.

The privacy policy and the refund policy form part of this agreement.

2. Pre-launch status

VoiceSnap Pro has not shipped. There is no download, no store listing and no checkout; voicesnap.pro/download collects an email address for the launch announcement. Joining the waitlist costs nothing, commits you to nothing, and does not create a licence. Anything below that talks about purchases, licence keys or refunds describes how VoiceSnap Pro will work from launch day.

3. What your licence grants

When you buy VoiceSnap Pro, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to install and use the app, subject to these terms.

TermWhat it means
One-timeYou pay once. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no date on which the app stops working because you did not pay again.
Per personA licence belongs to one named individual — the person it was issued to. It is not a seat that rotates around a team.
Two devicesYou may have the app installed and activated on up to two devices that you own or control at any one time. macOS and Windows both count; a Mac and a PC is a normal pair.
PerpetualThe version you bought keeps working. We cannot reach into your computer and switch it off.

Retiring a machine does not cost you a device slot: deactivate it in the app, or email us and we will free the slot. If you bought more than one licence — for example the founding offer's second licence — each licence carries its own two-device allowance and can be given to the person you bought it for.

Organisations may buy multiple licences, one per person who will use the app. Talk to us for anything above a handful and we will sort out a sane way to do it.

4. What you may not do

5. Your dictations are yours

You own everything you dictate and everything VoiceSnap Pro transcribes for you. We claim no ownership, no licence and no right to reuse it. We do not train AI models on it, and neither does our transcription provider — see the privacy policy for how audio is handled and how briefly it exists.

You are responsible for what you dictate: that you have the right to record it, and that inserting the resulting text somewhere does not breach a duty you owe to someone else.

6. Transcription accuracy — no warranty

Speech recognition is a prediction, not a measurement. VoiceSnap Pro will sometimes get a word wrong, punctuate a sentence differently from how you meant it, mishear a name, drop a negation, or format a number the way it was said rather than the way you intended. Accents, background noise, microphone quality, technical vocabulary and crosstalk all make this more likely.

We do not warrant that any transcript is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose, and we make no representation about any accuracy figure quoted in marketing material. Marketing figures describe typical results under favourable conditions, not a guarantee about your dictation.

Read what VoiceSnap Pro produced before you send it, sign it, commit it, or rely on it. Do not use VoiceSnap Pro as the sole record for anything where an error carries real consequence — medical notes, legal filings, financial instructions, safety procedures, or court and regulatory records — without a human reviewing the text against what was actually said.

7. Internet, third-party services and availability

Transcription requires an internet connection and a third-party speech recognition service. If your connection drops or that service has an outage, dictation will not work until it comes back. We will try to keep that rare and to be transparent when it happens, but we do not commit to an uptime figure and we are not liable for interruptions in a service we do not run.

Operating system changes can also break things — a new macOS release can revoke an accessibility permission, a Windows update can change how global shortcuts behave. We fix these as fast as we can.

8. Price, payment and taxes

The price is shown on voicesnap.pro/pricing in US dollars and is a one-time charge. Sales tax, VAT or GST may be added at checkout depending on where you are, and the payment provider handles that calculation. Payment is taken by a third-party provider; we never see or store your card number.

We can change the price of VoiceSnap Pro for future buyers at any time. A change never applies retroactively to a licence you already own, and never turns a one-time purchase into a subscription.

9. Refunds

Every purchase is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. The full terms, including how to ask and what happens to your licence afterwards, are in the refund policy, which forms part of this agreement. Statutory cancellation rights, where you have them, apply in addition and are not reduced by anything here.

10. Updates and support

Updates to the version line you bought are included at no extra cost, and we will tell you plainly if a future major version is ever a separate purchase rather than letting you find out at the checkout. Support is by email at support@voicesnap.pro, answered by the people who write the software.

We may change, add or remove features as the product develops. If a change removes something you specifically relied on, tell us — that is exactly the feedback that gets a decision reversed.

11. Termination

You can stop using VoiceSnap Pro at any time; uninstalling the app ends the agreement for you. Your notes library stays on your computer and is yours to keep or delete.

We may suspend or terminate a licence if it is used in breach of section 4 — for example a key published publicly, or a licence used to run a transcription service. Where the breach can reasonably be fixed, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix it. Termination for a breach does not entitle you to a refund; a refund under the refund policy also ends the licence.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VoiceSnap Pro is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every application on your computer, or that any defect will be corrected.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, loss of goodwill, or loss or corruption of data — including any transcript that was wrong, incomplete, lost, or inserted into the wrong place — even if we were told such damage was possible.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to VoiceSnap Pro is limited to the amount you actually paid us for your licence in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Where you paid nothing — for example while using a free tool on the website or while on the waitlist — that amount is zero.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Governing law and disputes

To be completed

Governing law: TO BE COMPLETED. The governing jurisdiction, the courts that will hear a dispute, and any consumer-protection carve-outs required by that jurisdiction have not been settled and must be filled in by a lawyer before VoiceSnap Pro goes on sale. This clause is intentionally blank rather than filled with a plausible-looking placeholder that someone might mistake for a decision.

What is not in question, and will survive legal review: if you have a problem, email us first. We would rather fix it than argue about it, and in practice a refund solves almost everything.

Whatever jurisdiction is chosen, mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence continue to apply to you, and this section will not be used to take away a right you have under them.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for a new feature, a new payment provider, or because the legal review of this draft changes the wording. The date at the top changes with them. For a material change we will email licence holders rather than relying on you noticing. Continuing to use VoiceSnap Pro after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the app and, if the change happens within your refund window, ask for your money back.
