How to dictate in the apps you already use
VoiceSnap Pro is not a window you dictate into and then copy out of. Hold one shortcut and clean, punctuated text appears in whatever field your cursor is already in. These are the guides for the eight places people ask about most.
VoiceSnap Pro has not shipped yet. Join the waitlist and we will email you once — on release day.
Pick your app
Every guide covers what people actually dictate in that app, the exact steps, the app's own dictation feature where it has one, and the mistakes worth avoiding.
Gmail
EmailDictate Gmail replies with one keyboard shortcut. Put the cursor in the compose window, speak, and get punctuated text — no extension, no copy and paste.
Read the guideGoogle Docs
DocumentsDictate into Google Docs from any browser and any window. Punctuation is automatic and it does not stop when the tab loses focus — unlike Docs Voice Typing.
Read the guideSlack
Team chatDictate Slack messages, thread replies and DMs with one shortcut. Punctuated text lands in the message box on Mac and Windows, desktop app or browser.
Read the guideNotion
Notes & wikisDictate into any Notion block, database property or comment with one shortcut. Punctuated text lands where the cursor is, in the desktop app or a browser.
Read the guideMicrosoft Word
DocumentsDictate long documents in Word on Mac or Windows with one shortcut. No Microsoft 365 subscription required, and the same key works everywhere outside Word.
Read the guideOutlook
EmailDictate Outlook email on Windows, Mac and the web with one shortcut. Clear a full inbox by voice — subject lines, replies, calendar invites and Teams too.
Read the guideChatGPT
AI assistantsDictate long ChatGPT prompts with one shortcut, in the browser or the desktop app — and use the same shortcut in Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and your editor.
Read the guideCursor
Code editorsDictate AI prompts, code comments, commit messages and docs in Cursor or VS Code — with an honest account of what voice is good for in an editor.
Read the guideThe same three moves in every app
There is nothing to configure per app, because VoiceSnap Pro never integrates with one. It types where the cursor is, which is why the instructions are identical whether the field belongs to a browser, an Electron app or a native one.
Put the cursor where the text should go
A compose window, a message box, a Notion block, a comment balloon, a cell, a search field. Whatever is focused is the target — there is no app picker and no per-app setup.
Hold your shortcut and speak
Full sentences at a normal pace. You do not narrate the punctuation: full stops, commas, capitals and paragraph breaks are inferred from how you actually talk, and “um”, “uh” and “like” are stripped out.
Release, read, carry on
The text is inserted like typed text, so undo, spell-check, formatting and autosave all behave normally. Nothing is submitted for you — you still press send yourself.
What the text arrives with
Punctuation and paragraphs
Commas, full stops, capitals and paragraph breaks come from the way you speak, so nothing needs reformatting after.
Filler words removed
“Um”, “uh” and “like” are taken out before insertion. You can restart a sentence halfway through and still send something clean.
Custom vocabulary
Teach it colleagues, clients, product names, repos and acronyms once, and stop correcting the same six words forever.
Saved and searchable
Every dictation is also written to a searchable notes library, so text you deleted from a draft is still findable later.
The other few hundred places it works
These eight have guides because they are what people search for. The list of apps VoiceSnap Pro works in has no end, because there is no integration to build — if the app has a text field, it takes dictation.
